Human Rights and Guidance

I reread a historical event happen in the 7^th century in Karbala, Iraq, where Imam Hussain -the prophet grandson- attended his enemies to avoid killing him, and to live their humanity –if has remained- through giving to drink six mounts baby.

In social epistemology, we analyse people`s activities to answer these questions:

How much people have right to be guided?

Does it relate with varying degree of cognitive capacities?

What point does end attendance for leading and guiding?

A.       Imam Hussain guided people presented in Krabala at Ashura as much as possible. There are many evidences clarifying this role:

a.      He delivered an ultimatum to Shemr while was slaughtering Hussain: abstain from killing the God`s successor or the prophet`s grandson.

b.      He exempted Hurr, who besieged him and his accompanies and opposed them to return to Medina or other cities and lands.

c.       He forgave many Muslims refused to accompany him, and asked them: ‘now that you are not accompanying me, leave Karbala and go far from us to not hear my voice of helping’.

d.      He accepted many Christians (Vahb, his wife and his mother) to accompany and follow him.

e.      Explicitly, Imam Hussain said: ‘You [troops] have right on me to be guide’. It means that he felt ultimate pity for people in Islamic state (Ummat).

B.      Guiding people to a truthful life through avoiding, abstaining, and refusing rebels, libertines, and depraves is the main role of any nation`s divine leader.

C.      Believed or not believed, what Imam Hussain did in his life period was the main role of God`s successor.  

-          I conclude that:

a)      Imam Hussain was a God` successor

b)      Guidance is one of human rights.

Does modern human not need guidance to truth in this period? Can we –As Muslim or non Muslims- anticipate such role to be playing? Does God have any successor now?

If yes, I name this role player as Imam, who is necessary for human life and ‘earth cannot be empty from him’, the prophet Muhammad said. Shi`i Muslims name his as Imam Mahdi, the 12^th prophet successor who currently is hidden from eyes and will appears while God knows.
